“Most people wash their hair too often and their scalp too little. Flaking is usually dryness and irritation, and stripping it daily with a foaming shampoo keeps the cycle going. This one is deliberately low-lather for that reason. Give it three or four weeks before deciding — scalps are slow. And if the flaking is thick, greasy or spreading beyond the hairline, that is not a shampoo problem and I would rather see you than sell you a bottle.”
Triphala is three fruits, not one: amalaki, bibhitaki and haritaki. Together they are among the most used preparations in Ayurveda, and on the scalp they are what an Ayurvedic physician reaches for when the problem is flaking and build-up rather than dryness alone.
No sulphates and no parabens. Polyquaternium keeps hair manageable after washing, and lavender gives it its scent.
One thing to expect: without sulphates it will not foam the way a supermarket shampoo does. Less lather is the point, not a fault — the foam in most shampoos is what strips a scalp that is already irritated. A small amount, worked in properly, cleans just as well.

Triphala (Amalaki, Bibhitaki, Haritaki), Polyquaternium-7, Lavender fragrance. Free from sulphates and parabens.
How to use+
Wet the hair thoroughly. Work a small amount into the scalp with your fingertips rather than your nails, and leave it there a minute before rinsing. It is the scalp that needs washing; the lengths mostly clean themselves as you rinse. Two or three times a week suits most people. Daily washing tends to make flaking worse rather than better. For external use only. Avoid the eyes.

Before you start+
For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes; if it gets in, rinse with clean water. Stop using it if the scalp becomes itchy, sore or reddened. Persistent flaking, weeping or scaling is worth having looked at rather than treating with shampoo alone. Keep out of reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight.
